Introduction
Welcome to the second edition of EXclusive News, produced by Brand Experiences. This month we focus on the EXO Survey, discuss how motivation links to productivity, share that Brand Experiences will be in the Middle East in May, and more. We’re EXcited to bring you this newsletter and if you find it useful, do share it with your networks.
Tool Time
Partnering with the Institute of Internal Communication we ran the 2020 Employee Experience Opportunity (EXO) survey. The full results are freely available to download, and the report includes some tips on how to improve the EX. Big themes of the report include:
- Employees' attitudes to work
- Motivation & Wellbeing
- Leadership
- Aligning Employee Experience and Customer Experience
- Managing change
- Productivity
- The impact of Covid-19
Mojo Matters
We see two major outcomes from delivering an effective EX: culture and productivity. Zoning in on the latter, the evidence suggests that the more motivated someone is, the more productive they are. Our mojo platform enables employees and their line managers to understand their intrinsic motivations; and if these are satisfied then they will be more productive. This leads to better performance and higher profits.

Monetising the Employee Experience
This book, co-written by our Chief Experience Officer, Mike Sharples, and our Head of EX, Nicholas Wardle, is a practical guide on how to build the case for investment in EX, how to achieve senior leadership buy-in, and the tools you’ll need to develop a winning culture.
A reviewer said:
"This is a 'must-read' book for anyone interested in improving the Employee Experience. If you are struggling to make a business case, this book will do it for you. If you are wanting to know the first step you can take, this book will show you the way. Utterly brilliant!"
The book is currently discounted by 13% to £16.53, and you can purchase your copy here.

EXtra EXtra...
Just in case you missed them, here’s some recent thought leadership from us:
Is personality profiling harming your EDI efforts? - perhaps there's a better way to consider role suitability?
Is your team too busy? - using the ROI calculator can help to build the business case for investment (article written by Mike Jones from Better Happy)
Do you rely on rescue moments to ‘delight’ your employees? - employees can spot a lack of planning/care a mile away
Are you focussing on the right thing? – it’s not work from home vs work from office; it’s motivated vs unmotivated
Retaining talent is more productive than recruiting talent - some up-front investment will help to secure existing talent, save cash on recruitment, maintain morale, and make you more productive
